Hello!

Welcome to my showcase!

My name is Andy Nguyen, and I am a prospective educator who graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's of Science and Arts in Mathematics, and I am certified to teach 7-12 mathematics. My long-term goal is to teach mathematics and be involved in school maker spaces in Houston, Texas.

Other than making, I enjoy cooking, going sightseeing, and writing poetry in my free time. I am currently learning how to cook Vietnamese food.  I do a lot of journaling in my free time to help me with managing my life.

My Maker Philosophy

Making is very subjective. There are many different definitions for making, and since I like to dabble in multiple different disciplines of making, my definition of making encapsulates the fact that it involves engaging with one's creativity to create an artifact that connects oneself to the world.

My Maker Projects

In the projects page, I have included many different projects of mine ranging from personal projects to passion projects. I define personal projects as any form of making that I do in my personal time whereas passion projects are projects that I have pursued over a longer period of time, ranging from projects I have done in UTeach to long-term bucket list projects.

Making in the Community

I use making to impact my community, and making can also be used to build community. In this tab, I talk about the many different ways I have engaged with the maker community in Austin as well as how I have used making to impact the UTeach community.
